Jan Gadermann is an award-winning director, writer and stop motion animator based in Berlin. He directed several short films, is co-creator of the cardboard picture book series ‘Mats & Frida’ and animated on multiple occasions for features, short films, commercials or TV-series like ‚Unser Sandmännchen’.
In 2022 he completed his studies at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf with a master’s degree in ‘Directing in Animation’ with the short film ‘Laika & Nemo’. The film was screened at over 150 festivals worldwide and won a student Oscar, among other awards.
In 2025 Jan was admitted to the Berlinale Talents Program and he became a meber of the European Film Academy
